Meditation practices that aren’t meditation
Have you noticed we’re becoming a new human species? We’re moving beyond 5-sensory perception into multi-sensory perception. This means we’re relying on our intuition and our sixth sense clairs more than our physical body messages of taste, sight, hear, touch, smell.
What are the clairs? These are the ways we perceive our answers through energy.
Clairaudience—clear hearing without the use of physical ears, yet ears may get hot. Might hear perfect words to songs even though the radio isn’t playing, pressure in ears, bell ring, bang. Could also hear the messages of loved ones, spirits, animals, plants, rocks, sky, etc. (For instance, I heard our neighbor’s pig ask for water because he was thirsty. And he was.
Clairvoyance—clear seeing without the use of physical eyes. Inner mind movies, psychic dreams that come true, constantly seeing same numbers, spirits, etc. (When in a client’s energy, I often get movies or pictures of events that have happened to them.)
Clairsentience—clear feeling. Vibrations, emotions (empathy, energy) through the body. Shivers, cold (ghost or past life interference), gut instinct. (Depending on the person’s energy, I feel all kinds of things in my body and hands that they are often going through.)
Claircognizance—clear knowing without using the physical mind. Clear insight. Just know and it proves accurate. (When in the client’s field, information just downloads into me about what they are going through without them needing to tell me.)
Clairgustance—clear taste without use of physical tongue. (I often taste copper if a client has had chemo.)
Clairsalience—clear smell without use of physical nose. (Could smell fried meat over and over after hubby’s dad passed and roses after his mom did. Their sign to me they were around. Often in client’s field I smell flowers or cigars or other strong smells to indicate their loved one is present.)
Clairempathy—clear sense of emotional feeling—detecting information through emotions whether person with you or not. Can go in past, future and feel the emotion the other person carries. Can go back to people’s childhood, past lives, etc and feel what they felt or see what happened. (Could feel a client’s debilitating fear of crossing a street though they did not mention it. Always proves accurate.
Clairtangency—clear information through touch (antiques, objects, photographs, etc) I often feel this information when touching things in nature like trees, plants, rocks. I felt the bark of a tree and knew it would die in a year and it did.
When we have clear connection to Source Energy within us, we are less vulnerable to fear or the agenda of others. We begin to develop an unshakeable trust in ourselves and the Universe. We tend to believe everything will turn out okay without needing to know or control how that might happen, reinforcing our connection to love and not fear.
Many children born now have this connection. They are already the new human species. The rest of us must work at it. We’ve already lived through many years of emotional programming, conditioning, and debilitating beliefs, so we must transform ourselves.
To do this, we must become aware we live with an inner critic that’s miserably unhappy with us and life, always self-righteous, fearful, judgmental, and never gives us a moment’s peace. Allowing this nonsensical storyteller access to our creative power has proven a painful way to live. It’s up to us to end this debilitating fear-based relationship in favor of our authentic nature of love.
One way I’ve found successful, more often than not, for quieting my inner critic is through meditation. (I can almost hear you groan. 😊) For many of us, myself included, I’ve shunned meditation because I thought it meant sitting for hours trying to have a silent mind, which of course brought on more thoughts.
I learned I’m not a meditator in the traditional yogic sense. My monkey mind doesn’t shut off by repeating mantras, staring at candle flames, flowers, or crystals. I discovered my mind will work with me when I work with it.
Without realizing it, my mind became perfectly still while I was painting houses. For more than a dozen years I’d crawl up on a ladder and cut in paint on a wall and trim. I had to be completely focused on the task and not let my mind wander or I’d end up with a mess.
I worked alone at the time and never listened to a radio. I was in complete silence for 8-12 hours each day and it wasn’t long before I noticed I felt better, happier, more peaceful. It was the beginning of learning what it felt like to have a silent mind and how much the inner critic had been hurting me.
Painting houses was my meditative practice. It helped me learn that I was in charge of the thoughts I allowed in my mind. This helped me let go of random addictive thoughts while learning how to listen in a new way through my intuition and clairs. A whole new world of energy opened for me. Intuitive listening became natural, because I felt better this way, freer, less stressed. Everything seemed to work out. Reason enough for me to continue this path.
I also use journaling as an active meditation. My mind has to work with my hand to write the insights that come to me. This is another way I found to keep the mind happily engaged in the process without interfering.
Other forms of meditation I’ve found useful for stilling the mind are baking cookies, cleaning the house, and taking showers. All task-orientated activities that keep my mind happily productive but don’t require efforted thought. My mind is not creating anything so there’s space for my insights to just drop in. Nothing new comes to a mind already full with nonstop thoughts and stories.
And here's one more suggestion to help quiet the mind. I created a video that’s an active feeling meditation. Your focus is on feeling, so the mind steps aside creating stillness: https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1L28Rj7RjT
We are on the cusp of a truer, more authentic version of the human experience through conscious awareness. But if we are to take our place in this loving space, we must learn to cultivate a focused, still mind. This takes practice and a willingness to find your best way. If you’re struggling, I encourage you to let go of how you “think” meditation should be done. Consider an activity you’re already doing and make that your mindful meditation.
