What does self-love feel like?
Since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, it seemed a beautiful opportunity to talk about what it feels like to experience self-love. According to my recent journaled guidance, Love is the compelling force to know thyself in all your brilliance, in all your glory. To know thyself fully is to intimately know the force of nature (the creation and that which creates).
To get in full alignment with this force is the end of all worry, depression, anxiety, confusion, and deep sorrow indicative of the conditioned personal mind. It is the knowing you need not know as it is already within you expressing through you as you.
When in this state of Love, no more are you concerned with the outer effects of this world. Instead, you are consumed by the quiet bliss of your inner sanctum. All else falls away, yet is poignant in a seemingly new way. You now have eyes to see and ears to hear what cannot be known but can be experienced and understood.
Okay. Right. That’s a lot, isn’t it. I think my guidance and support team is accurate, but archaic. So, I got thinking about what I feel in this Love state they are talking about, and for me, it feels like flow. It feels natural and yet larger and deeper and definitely an inner experience.
Of course, self-love is about not going against yourself in your thoughts, feelings, or actions. It’s about saying yes when you mean yes, and no when you mean no. But what else does self-love feel like to me?
Here’s a few experiences I’ve had while in the flow state:
More synchronicities
A truer connection with others based on honesty and compassion
A deeper understanding of life experiences
Stronger inner knowing and inner guidance that feels right and proves itself accurate
A sense of awe-filled wonder and gratitude about life
More trust and patience for my process and the way life unfolds
A lighter heart
Less fear and doubt, if any
More opportunities that seem to appear with ease
Focus seems sharper, clearer, and immediate as if time does not exist
The deep feeling that life is happening through me, for me
A sense of unconditional support and profound love for myself and others
No thought, just an inner vibration
Open awareness and wider perspective
Alignment with a high-vibe state of being where right action seems effortless and natural
Less pain and easier to breathe
An inner enthusiasm and joy that can be felt by others
Intensely still, yet actively listening within
Objects seem brighter, clearer, and closer
The natural world seems even more vibrantly beautiful.
While in flow, it feels like I’m experiencing life in a way that’s built on gratitude and trust without any mental interference. In other words, I’m not really thinking, just open to what comes without judgment.
I’m reminded in one of my journal entries that when I’m scared in my mind, that is against my nature. Nature is at peace with the mind and in tune with the cosmic mind. Nothing ruffles the nature of who I am.
This brings up the idea then, of who do I think I am? The mind is conditioned to think which is not the most efficient use of mind. Does the flower need thought to unfurl its bud? No. It is in tune with its nature. It does not resist flow so receives all it needs to thrive as intended, even in sidewalk cracks.
This is as close as I can get to what self-love feels like to me. And that feels super freeing—no judging, thinking, or validating anything outside of my own inner experience. It’s up to me to live this way as much as I can.
