Stressed? Drained? Three breakfasts loaded with energy

If I can get personal for a minute—what did you eat for breakfast today? What did you eat yesterday?

No judgment here. I used to eat chocolate cake for breakfast, and if I’m being truthful, I’d still eat it if it was in my kitchen. And yes, I really am that weak when it comes to cake…and chocolate.

But since I’m all about energy in all its forms, which includes the human body, I thought I’d share a few great ways to begin your day with energized food to create and support a healthy, energized body.

Here’s my favorite breakfast ideas:

  1. Scrambled eggs: Two organic eggs scrambled in coconut oil, tossed with 1 avocado (cubed), and topped with fresh salsa. This dish is filling, tasty, and rich with healthy fats, proteins, Vitamin C, A, and K, and potassium. AND it plates up pretty. 😊 You can also fry the eggs in butter (from grass-fed cows), or extra virgin olive oil—both are healthy fats.   

  2. Fruit parfait: Three tablespoons of cottage cheese sprinkled with cinnamon, over a bowlful of blueberries, strawberries, or raspberries. Again, great protein, antioxidants, and Vitamin C. By the way, cinnamon is the spice superstar for antioxidants. It also helps fight infection, has anti-inflammatory properties, lowers blood sugar levels, plus a ton more. AND it makes a great evening snack; you know right before bed when you really want that chocolate cake. It’s satisfying and helps burn fat all night. =

  3. Banana smoothie: It tastes a little like a vanilla shake and a little like a chai tea latte. 1 banana, ½ tsp vanilla, dash of salt, 1/8 tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 tsp cardamom, 1 cup ice cubes, and ½ cup (or more) of milk or coconut water. Blend. (Can use a little honey to sweeten. Don’t add the cardamom if you don’t like chai tea.) I loooove this smoothie. It’s got potassium, minerals, fiber, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, and supports the liver. I don’t even care about the cake anymore.

A happy, healthy body vibrates at a higher frequency with wide open energy centers. You’ll feel less tired, stressed, drained, and more able to make decisions that help you create your best life.
