Are you back in school or work? Tips to stay grounded and feel secure.

What a summer, right? Because of the virus, so many of the events and places I’d normally attend were no longer available. I found myself at home more often, puttering, sleeping a bit later, having a lot more phone conversations, but not really getting a lot more accomplished.

I was totally okay with that. I was on the No Plan, plan. No Plan became my new normal. And from what I’ve heard from many of you, this has been your life as well.

But now many of us are back to school or back to work, perhaps in the office. This may feel a bit jarring after the prolonged No Plan. There may be some anxiety as well.

Here’s a couple easy tips to help keep your root chakra balanced which will help you feel more grounded and secure.

  1. Go barefoot as much as possible, especially in the grass or along a sandy beach.

  2. Stomp your feet to connect with the earth or ground, even if you’re in a building.

  3. Sway your hips, dance.

  4. Eat root vegetables.

  5. If you’re into Yoga, the root chakra is about stability and support. Include these poses in your routine: Warrior I & II, Tree Pose, Chair Pose, Standing Forward Bend. Restorative Poses include Reclining Bound Angle Pose, Supported Child’s Pose, and Supported Corpse Pose.

  6. Carry a crystal in your pocket: Ruby, garnet, black tourmaline, obsidian, onyx, smoky quartz, fire agate.

  7. Essential oils for your diffuser (or to wear): myrrh, vetiver, sandalwood, patchouli, spikenard.

And as always,  I’m available for private or group sessions if you need deeper understanding, support, or guidance through energy work or intuitive life coaching.
